4 Ingredients to Prevent Dry & Dehydrated Skin This Winter

SCOUT Organic Active Beauty - SCOUT Superfood Skincare Range

Winter is finally here, and as the weather begins to change you may find that your skincare routine also needs updating to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.

At SCOUT, it is important to us that we are not only creating products that use a mix of powerful Super Food formulations and potent natural and organic Australian ingredients, such as Aloe Vera juice, Avocado Oil, and Rosehip Oil but are also focussed on keeping your skin nourished and protected.

Prevent a dry and dehydrated complexion this winter by adding the 4 following highly moisturising ingredients into your skincare routine.

Aloe Vera

If you find that your skin is quite dry or sensitive in winter, this may be the perfect ingredient for you!

Used for its skin healing and soothing capabilities, Aloe Vera Juice can be used on all skin types to help reduce inflammation and redness, rehydrate the complexion, and heal broken skin.

This is because Aloe Vera Juice is abundant in Vitamin B, Folic Acid, and Vitamin C, and for this reason is one of my favourite ingredients to incorporate into my skincare routine in winter.

Look out for Aloe Vera Juice in our Super Fruit Exfoliating Wash-Off Cleanser and Vitamin C Brightening Serum, which are both rich in Polysaccharides found in Aloe Vera Juice, to help retain moisture and soothe the skin.

As these two products also aid in exfoliating and brightening the skin, you may find your complexion looking and feeling fresher and more revitalised as well.

Avocado Oil

Another natural moisturiser, binding agent, and natural anti-inflammatory is Avocado Oil.

We love Avocado Oil in our skincare products as it helps to shield the skin from ultraviolet radiation, protect against skin damage, and help to heal chapped and dry skin.

Our Six Oils of Rejuvenation is rich in Avocado Oil, alongside Sunflower and Carrot to provide you all-day protection and hydration, and resulting in a smoother and softer complexion.

Try adding a few drops of our facial oil to your liquid foundation in the morning when applying your makeup if you find that your skin can tend to dry out throughout the day.

Similarly, if you find using facial oils too heavy to use in the daytime, try mixing in a few drops with your favourite SCOUT moisturiser for an extra hydration boost in the evening.

Rosehip Oil

Well-known to be incredibly beneficial for the skin, Rosehip Oil is abundant in naturally occurring Vitamins A, C, and E, and essential fatty acids Omega 3, 6 and 9.

This wonderful combination of vitamins and antioxidants not only helps to repair and regenerate damaged and dehydrated skin, but also helps to prevent fine lines and wrinkles, and minimise the appearance of scarring and pigmentation.

You will find Rosehip Oil in our Six Oils of Rejuvenation, Vitamin C Brightening Serum, and the Balance & Replenish Light Moisturiser – all perfect additions to have in your winter skincare! Combined with other potent active ingredients such as jojoba oil and Kakadu plum found in these products, you will be left with a supple and radiant complexion.

Hyaluronic Acid

Found naturally in our skin’s structure, Hyaluronic Acid is infamous for its ability to keep the skin moisturised and protected, boost collagen production, soften the skin, and decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

As you may know, Hyaluronic Acid has the ability to hold 1000 times its own weight in water, which means that it helps the skin to retain hydration and works to keep your complexion looking plump and soft.

We have included Hyaluronic Acid in our Cell Renewal Peptide Serum, as well as our Nourish & Hydrate Moisture Defence Crème and Balance & Replenish Light Moisturiser.

In all 3 products, Hyaluronic Acid is the hero ingredient that provides long-lasting and all-day hydration by working to restore the skin’s moisture levels.
